The sleek, high-floor design of the DART Light Rail
Vehicles has proven to be a phenomenal success for the
city of Dallas and surrounding areas. We have delivered
115 vehicles to provide safe and efficient transportation
for the 60,000 passengers who travel the Red and Blue
Lines every day...and the Dallas ridership just keeps
growing.
The system now connects Plano & Garland
in the north to the thriving Dallas Central Business District and
extends past the VA Medical center and Westmoreland in
South Dallas . An ambitious planned extension will connect
commuters in the northwest along the I-35 corridor to
all the city has to offer. With system wide route extensions
already in the works, the reliability of Kinkisharyo
LRV's are more important than ever.
The LRV system continues to play a major role in the
economic development along the transit routes. When
a transit line succeeds in bringing the community and
businesses together, the entire regional economy thrives.
